Commissioning a Painting

I enjoy painting commissions across a range of subjects. There is something refreshing about the challenge of a new and unusual subjects, whether wilderness and rural landscapes, portraits of beloved pets, or the evocation of a special time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I give you one of my images?

I am happy to work from your image, or provide one for you.

Can you work on small and large pieces?

I work across a wide range of sizes, from  8" x 12" to 36" x 48".

How does pricing work?

Commissions are priced by size, with prices comparable to regular work.

Do you require a deposit?

I require a 25% non-refundable deposit before starting the painting. The remaining balance is due before shipping/delivery.

How long does it take?

Please allow 4-6 weeks from start to finish.

Do I have to get it framed?

Completed commissioned paintings come with finished edges and wired for easy installation. It does not require framing, but you are certainly welcome to do so yourself.

Can I see the painting before final payment?

Yes! I will send you an image of the completed painting before varnishing. You are welcome to any specific changes at that point.

What if I don't like it?

If you are not satisfied with the outcome, no additional payment beyond the initial non-refundable deposit is required. 

How much does it cost to ship it to me?

Custom commissioned paintings come with free shipping within Canada, and cost $25 flat rate worldwide.

Do you offer delivery and installation?

I am happy to offer free delivery and installation for paintings within British Columbia (Mainland/Southwest, Thompson/Okanagan, Kootenay, Vancouver Island/Coast, and Cariboo), as well as across the USA/Canada border in Washington State (Whatcom County). If you live beyond these listed areas, I ship paintings worldwide.
